On January 21, 2016 the inauguration ceremony of a water pump for solar energy took place in the Yinmartaw village, located about 15 miles far from Magway, Myanmar. The new facility shall bring a direct benefit to 252 families (about 1,000 people) in the area.
Delegates from the local organization SARA and from Progetto Continenti – Myanmar attended the inauguration, making a speech about the project sustainability, the conditions of use and the maintenance regulation of the plant, and explaining the broader context of various programs in support of the introduction of solar energy in the Dry Zone. There was also U Kyaw Kyaw Lwin, deputy supervisor of the Ministerial Department for Rural Development. Eventually, a spokesman for the village thanked on behalf of the whole community.
